“Mare Antico” 2023 Edition Bianco Igt – Pialli
Vinification: From the Colli Berici, “Mare Antico” edition 2023, is a natural Veneto IGT Bianco, an orange wine from Chardonnay and Sauvignon grown on limestone soils. It undergoes spontaneous fermentation with seven days of skin contact, then six months in oak. Organic and biodynamic practices sustain the vines at Barbarano Vicentino; terroir features marine-limestone soils studded with fossils, lending salinity. Produced artisanally by Alessandro Pialli since 2001, the wine embodies vineyard ecosystems and careful cellar work.
Tasting Note: Characterised by a dynamic mineral profile and balanced tannins from brief skin contact, this wine unveils a complex nose of ripe citrus, yellow fruits and aromatic herbs, with subtle medicinal notes and a marine, limestone-derived salinity. On the palate it is dry, lively and deep, with a creamy texture and restrained tannins that lend structure without heaviness. The finish remains clean, persistent, and bright acidity endures.
