“Are” Primitivo di Manduria Doc – Campi Deantera
Vinification: It is a genuine red vinification, crafted from 100% Primitivo grapes grown near Sava, Salento. The grapes are hand-picked in mid-September and subjected to thermo-controlled maceration and alcoholic fermentation for about ten days at 24–26°C, with selected yeasts. It then matures for six months in French and American oak barrels, developing complexity. The wine hails from thin, clayey, rocky soils at about 100 metres above sea level in Sava.
Tasting note: An opulent Primitivo di Manduria with a deep ruby colour and violet reflections. The bouquet is lush: ripe cherries and plums, cocoa, and vanilla, unfolding into a full-bodied, velvety palate. Rich, well-balanced acidity and a long, warm finish with whispers of jam, chocolate, and oak. A robust Italian red from Puglia, aged several months in French and American oak.
