Malbec Cahors – Domaine de Fages – Château Les Croisille
Vinification: This exquisite 100% Malbec from Chateau les Croisille features 35-year-old vines on the limestone plateau of Luzech. Hand-harvested and cultivated using organic and biodynamic methods, the wine undergoes fermentation with indigenous yeasts in small tanks. It is aged for 15 months in large casks, resulting in a medium-bodied Malbec that boasts soft, well-integrated tannins. This two-year oak maturation enhances its complexity, producing a refined and harmonious character.
Tasting note: This elegant wine reveals an abundance of black fruit and leather, with hints of tobacco. The limestone terroir enhances its richness and freshness, producing a deep garnet colour. Its expressive nose features ripe black fruits and sweet spices. The palate is taut with fine tannins, offering a powerful finish of black cherry, liquorice, and cocoa.
