“Lari” Isola dei Nuraghi Igt – La Sughera
Vinification: A natural red from Cantina La Sughera in northern Sardinia, this wine blends 55% Cagnulari with 45% Cannonau. Grapes are vinified separately, using spontaneous fermentation and maceration with frequent cap punches. Cagnulari macerates for 14 days, Cannonau for 8, then the wines are pressed and aged mostly in stainless steel. They are blended in spring, bottled in early summer, unfiltered and rustic, with a gentle drift of deposit, and a flavour that rewards patience in bottle.
Tasting note: A Sardinian red of deep ruby, with a cooked-wine character and oxidative aromas. The palate offers astringency with caramel and coffee, rustic and unpolished, true to traditional island winemaking. For enthusiasts of bold, Mediterranean reds, it bears authentic Sardinian terroir, though polarising. Dark-berry and red-flower notes mingle with herbs and sweet spices, a rich, tannic finish, a medium-full, with a mid-length finale.
