“La Garghi”- Garganega Igt – Pialli

Vinification: A 100% Garganega that hails from decidedly calcareous soils pink and white, with pockets of clay and rocky outcrops. The harvest is fractionated and hand-picked in small crates, with direct pressing or destemming by vintage. The must is decanted and undergoes spontaneous fermentation with a prepared pied de cuve, without skin contact. Predominantly steel, a touch of French oak, and eight months on fine lees. A light, carefree, fruit-forward wine with minimal sulfur.

Tasting Note: A wine of grit and persistence, with a hint of skin fermentation that keeps it refreshingly lively. Aromatics are dreamy, apricot, bright russet apples and sweet spices, some note apple/cider and a whisper of lime. Palate fruity and delicate, medium-light body, rustic yet refreshing with pear, apple and kiwi. Minerality and a saline finish; in some vintages a touch of tannin from skin fermentation. Appearance straw to dark yellow.
