Ca’ Vescovado is situated in Lugugnana, a hamlet of Portogruaro, in a fertile region reclaimed between the Livenza and Tagliamento rivers, located on the border of Veneto and Friuli. The vineyards of Ca’ Vescovado span 60 hectares and are divided across three distinct areas. The vineyards in Villanova are found in the DOCG Lison-Pramaggiore area, where the soil is clayey and heavy. This type of soil allows for good drainage and is particularly suited for producing structured, barrel-aged wines. The vineyards in Lugugnana, where the winery itself is located, grow on ancient land known as the Vescovado. This area is enclosed by the Livenza and Tagliamento rivers and features soils rich in calcium, carbonate, and magnesium. These elements contribute a unique sapidity and freshness to the wines. The vineyards in Alberoni and those near the Zignago Valley are located close to the lagoons of Caorle and Bibione. In these areas, the vines thrive in sandy soils enriched with marine sediments and limestone deposits, which impart a subtle salty note to the wines. Ca’ Vescovado is a highly respected wine producer that blends tradition with innovation and maintains a strong commitment to quality. Their wines reflect the passion and dedication of the winery.
