Castello di Stefanago is a family-owned winery in Lombardy’s Oltrepo Pavese hills, focused on producing natural, organic wines. Covering 20 hectares amidst 135 hectares of meadows and forests, the vineyards thrive in ideal soil and sunlight, promoting biodiversity and grape quality.

Since 1998, the winery has committed to 100% organic cultivation, allowing healthy grapes to grow with minimal intervention. Each vineyard is treated as its own ecosystem, enhancing soil vitality and vine strength.

Their winemaking emphasizes understanding each vintage to highlight the best expressions of the grapes. Timing is essential during hand-harvesting, and each year a plan is created to maximize the quality of the wines. This collaboration with nature leads to slight variations each year, a characteristic of natural winemaking. While some wines are ready to enjoy soon after bottling, others, like the exclusive Pinot Noir Campo Castagna and unique Riesling San Rocco, require long aging. Their sparkling wines, made with Pinot Noir using the ancestral method, spend years on the lees with native yeasts, resulting in a distinctive character for each vintage.
