“San Giovanni” Barbera d’Alba Superiore Doc – Virna Borgogno
Vinification: After crushing and destemming, the grapes are macerated in fermenters with rotating blades, allowing them to be in contact with the skins for about 6 to 7 days at a controlled temperature. Following this, the wine is bottled and aged horizontally for at least 6 months before it is packaged and shipped.
Tasting Notes: Soft with an intense ruby-red colour, the Barbera has Notes of blackberries and ripe cranberries; on the palate it remains elegant and powerful, with good potential for ageing. We recommend drinking at a temperature of 17-18°C with salami and cheeses and rich first courses with meat sauce.
