Zurria – Isola dei Nuraghi IGT Rosso Biodynamic – Tenuta Masone Mannu
This wine is a true expression of the region, resulting from expert winemaking that enhances the typicality and authenticity of the selected grapes.
Territory:
The estate spans nearly 100 hectares, with around 40 dedicated to specialised vineyards. The soil mainly consists of granite sands, and the vine density is 4,000 vines per hectare. All grapes are sourced from biodynamic cultivations. The grapes are grown in a 12-year-old vineyard, with an average yield of 80 quintals per hectare. This wine is produced with utmost respect for both the grapes and the surrounding environment, as it is developed without pesticides or chemical fertilisers, fully embracing the granite sands of the picturesque Gallura region.
Winemaking:
Grapes are hand-picked and collected in crates. After harvesting, the grapes are manually selected and sorted using an optical sorter. They undergo maceration on the skins for 12 hours, followed by a gentle pressing and fermentation under temperature-controlled conditions. The ageing process involves a minimum of 8 months in steel tanks, during which malolactic fermentation occurs. Additionally, the wine is stored in the bottle for one month before being released for sale.
Tasting Notes:
A bright ruby colour wine with purple reflections. The aroma presents intense and fresh notes, striking a delicate balance between floral and fruity aromas that evoke cherries, cyclamen, currants, and roses, accompanied by subtle herbaceous hints. It showcases lively freshness and light tannins on the palate, revealing a lean and easy-drinking character. It beautifully expresses the distinctive characteristics of the grape variety.
