Marangona Lugana DOC – Marangona

‘Marangona’ is the name of a bell that elegantly signals the conclusion of the workday. At the heart of the winery lies a passionate commitment to crafting exceptional wines, each with a distinct and captivating character.

Territory:
In the heart of the Lugana region, the Marangona winery cultivates noble vines using organic farming principles on approximately 34 hectares of land located in Pozzolengo, Sirmione, and Peschiera.
The grapes are sourced from the winery’s youngest and oldest vineyards planted in clay and limestone soils.
The cultivation method employed is a ‘double arc’ cordon system.
Winemaking:
Marangona’s Lugana is made entirely from ‘Turbiana,’ also known as Trebbiano di Lugana.
The grapes are hand-picked in small boxes and pressed as whole clusters.
They undergo fermentation at low temperatures in stainless steel tanks. After fermentation, the wine is aged on its fine lees and bottled early the following year.
This ageing process lasts 3 to 4 months, and no oak ageing or malolactic fermentation is involved.
Tasting Notes:
The wine presents a captivating pale straw hue, enticing the senses with its complex aromas of almonds, fragrant herbs, zesty citrus, and a delicate hint of apricot.
On the palate, it delivers a remarkable balance of vibrant acidity and freshness, leaving a lasting impression that lingers beautifully.
