San Lorenzo Winery: A Jewel of Abruzzo, The estate has been producing wine since 1890 and is now managed by the fourth generation of the Galasso family, Gianluca and Fabrizio.

The vineyard is located 20 kilometers from Gran Sasso, the highest mountain in the Apennines at 3,000 meters above sea level, which creates an impressive backdrop for the vines. Additionally, the vineyard is also 20 kilometers from the sea. This ideal position between the sea and the mountains provides significant temperature variations and gentle breezes that promote healthy grape growth. The soil is unique, characterized by a clay-limestone texture, and abundant spring water flows beneath the surface, creating a fertile environment for the vines. The landscape features row after row of vines interspersed with small country paths lined with cypress trees and dotted with old farmhouses.

Out of a total of 150 hectares, San Lorenzo Winery has converted 28 hectares to organic cultivation.

The winery has also played a key role in the recovery of native grape varieties, including Pecorino. This variety was almost extinct in the 1980s, but fortunately, some wild vines were discovered. Together with local producers, efforts were made to reintroduce Pecorino in its traditional growing areas.
