Aglianico Irpinia Dop – Cantina Sanpaolo
Vinification: L’Aglianico, a prestigious grape variety from Southern Italy with roots in ancient Greek culture, thrives at altitudes of 200 to 300 metres in clay and limestone soils. The Cantina Sanpaolo meticulously harvests and vinifies the grapes, following a traditional process that includes controlled fermentation and a crucial 7 to 12 days of maceration. Aged in French oak barriques for 4 months, this wine develops rich flavours and complexity before being bottled, reflecting the vibrant terroir of its origin.
Tasting Note: It presents an intense ruby red colour with violet reflections. The nose unveils rich aromas of red berries and spices, featuring ripe cherries, plums, and earthy notes of wet soil and ferns. On the palate, it showcases a robust character with fine tannins and a refreshing acidity, offering vibrant flavours of forest fruits and a hint of liquorice.
